The Fulton County Fair Board has released attendance figures that say more than 340,000 people attended the fair, Aug. 30-Sept. 5.
The unofficial figure released by the board was 340,594. That represents an additional 49,375 visitors–almost a 17% jump– from 2018, when the number was 291,219.
It’s also 42,248 more than the attendance record set in 2013, when the Fair Board said 298,346 visited. That’s 14.5% more people in 2019 than in 2013.
Attendance on Friday was 33,625, breaking the previous Friday record of 33,594 set in 2018.
Fair attendance was helped by mild temperatures and only slight rain, which fell on Sunday, Sept. 1. Dennis Wyse, fair board president, said about a tenth (.1) of an inch of rain fell at the fairgrounds that day.
