Two cases involving fraud were reported to Archbold police recently.
Richard L. Wagler, 72, Archbold, told police that between Dec. 28, 2015, and March 9, someone opened several accounts with a bank and a credit card firm using Wagler’s identity.
Wagler told officers he had been in contact with both companies, who closed the accounts. Both have started internal investigations.
Josiah W. Taylor, 28, Archbold, told police on Friday, March 11, that his credit card had been misused, to withdraw $500 from his account.
The theft occurred in Orlando, Fla., at about 5:26 pm the day before.
Taylor told officers he had recently used an online payment service; an unknown individual may have gained access to his information through that service. He requested a report for his bank.
Both cases were marked closed.
