Four Treated, Released After Aug. 26 Auto Wreck

Four persons were treated and released at the Archbold Hospital following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of St. Rt. 66 and Co. Rd. M at 7:33 am, Thursday, Aug. 26.

The Fulton County Sheriff Department report states Nathan P. Herbig, Bainbridge, N.Y., was driving a car east on the county road, with passenger Cornelia B. Horne, 52, of the same address.

A sport-utility vehicle driven by Carrie M. Ueberroth, 34, Delta, with passenger David Ueberroth, 7, same address, was traveling north on St. Rt. 66.

The FCSD report states the Herbig vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign, and the two vehicles collided. Herbig struck a stop sign and drove over an embankment. The car went airborne and rolled over twice before coming to rest.

Archbold and Fayette rescue squads transported all victims.

Herbig was cited for failure to stop for a stop sign.


A two-vehicle crash occurred on North Defiance Street north of the Co. Rd. D intersection about 5:50 pm, Friday, Aug. 20, a sheriff report states.

A minivan driven by Andrew Buenger, 29, Defi- ance, with passenger Brandi Buenger, 26, same address, was traveling north on North Defiance Street when he brought the vehicle to an abrupt stop due to stopped traffic ahead.

A car driven by Jennifer E. Sommer, 35, Archbold, with passenger Olivia R. Sommer, 14, same address, was following the minivan. The two vehicles collided.

No injuries. Jennifer Sommer was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
