Four Thefts Reported, Items Taken

The Archbold Police Department received reports of theft from a residence, garage, storage unit, and concession stand last week.

One loss could total in the thousands of dollars.

Ava Ferguson, 104 S. Lincoln St., called police about 7 pm, Saturday, May 24. She told offi- cers she had gone to the home of Heather L. Merillat, 501 West Street, to water the flowers, and discovered the front door was standing open.

Ferguson discovered a television and other items missing.

Merillat later said the missing items included a laptop computer and jewelry.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Brent P. Gingerich, 109 Pheasant Lane, told police on Saturday, May 31, that an aftermarket in-dash car stereo, valued at $200, was stolen from one of his vehicles while parked in his garage.

A pocketknife and spare change was taken from another vehicle in the garage.

The garage was unlocked.


Diane Sessen, 313 North Pointe Dr., told police Tuesday, May 27, that her unit at Archbold Mini Storage was broken in.

Taken were three silk ficus trees, valued at $225.

Memorial Park

Jennifer Kidder, Archbold Parks & Recreation director, told police on Thursday, May 28, someone took $120 in cash from the Memorial Park concession stand.

The theft might have occurred between the hours of 8:15 am, Tuesday, May 27, and 5:30 pm the following day.

No signs of forced entry.
