Foor Wins, Phs Girls Third At Otsego Invite

Nichole Foor, a Pettisville senior, won her second straight invitational and led the PHS girls team to a third-place finish at the Otsego Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 2.

Foor ran the race in 20 minutes, 20 seconds, six seconds ahead of the secondplace finisher.

Kate Stuber finished seventh in 21:58. Sarah Foor was 11th in 22:37; Ava Hoylman was 32nd in 25:38; and Ellie Wixom was 42nd in 27:20.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 44. Sarah Herring 28:07; 51. Madeline Shumaker 32:44.

St. Ursula Academy defended its title, winning with 55 points. Whitmer was second with 58. The Birds finished with 75, followed by Otsego 90, Gibsonburg 113, and St. Joseph Central Catholic 115.

Boys

The Pettisville boys team also placed third.

Max Leppelmeier was the first Blackbird into the chute. He placed fourth in 17:41.

Logan Rufenacht was right behind, finishing sixth in 17:49.

 

 

Jaret Rychener was 16th in 18:40; Caleb Nolander was 25th in 19:30; and Calvin Nofziger was 28th in 19:33.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 33. Jacob Myers 19:58; 44. Evan Warner 21:16.

Whitmer’s Nathan Cousino won in 16:22.

Whitmer won the boys meet with 21 points, with its first five runners all finishing in the top eight.

Otsego was second with 55; Pettisville 79; St. Joseph C.C. 122; Gibsonburg 137; Swanton 175; Evergreen 178; Rossford 189; Northwood 259.
