Lexie King and Kayla Bruner have taken over the Pettisville softball program as co-head coaches.
Kendra Stahl compiled a 105-85 record over the past 10 years as head coach. The Birds finished last year with a 5-7 record in the Buckeye Border Conference
The Birds lost Kyra Behnfeldt, Sami Tilley, and Brittney Sauder to graduation.
Returning are Starr Kessinger, a senior; Mackenzie Morgan, a junior; and sophomores Kaylee Grimm, Elise Hartzler, and Kenzie Rivera.
According to King and Bruner, the players have a great attitude and willingness to learn.
“We are a small, young, and inexperienced group this season,” said L. King. “Many girls will be playing new or different positions.
“There will be players in positions that they have never played before or have been limited to.
“But I expect them to accept the challenge and have the willingness to fill those roles.”
The Birds were scheduled to open the season yesterday, Tuesday, at Montpelier in their BBC opener.
Assisting with coaching duties is Harris King.
