Fight Fire At Trucking, Towing Business Sun.

Fire area fire departments fought a blaze in a shop building at JR Trucking & Towing, 26076 Co. Rd. J, Sunday afternoon, March 3.

Rich Kilgour, Fulton County Sheriff Department 911 coordinator, said the call came in as a structure fire.

Archbold and Fayette fire departments were dispatched at 12:13 pm, followed by Morenci (Mich.) as a Rapid Intervention Team at 12:15 pm.

A Rapid Intervention Team, or RIT, stands by in case firefighters are trapped.

Later, the Alvordton and West Unity departments were called to assist.

Russ Wyse, Archbold assistant fire chief, said an AFD crew was the first to the scene. Upon arrival, it was discovered a concrete block shop building with offices on a second floor overlooking part of the first floor was fully involved.

The crew did not attempt an interior attack against the blaze.

Crews had to shuttle water to the scene with tanker trucks, he said.

The fire was in the Fayette Fire Department district, so it is conducting the investigation.

FFD officers were not available for comment at presstime.
