Fayette Man Sentenced

A rural Fayette man was sentenced Thursday, June 23, on a marijuana-related charge in Fulton County Common Pleas Court:

•Steven Garcia, 48, rural Fayette; originally indicted Jan. 11 on one count each, illegal cultivation of marijuana, tampering with evidence; guilty plea to illegal cultivation of marijuana filed in April; on Aug. 11, 2015, was growing marijuana; sentenced to 10 days at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio; placed on two years community control; ordered to pay a $500 fine, stay out of bars-taverns, not to possess or consume alcohol or illegal substances, be assessed by Changing Offender Behavior program through Western District Court, complete recommendations; driver license suspended for six months, occupational, probation, worship, and treatment driving privileges granted. Failure to comply could result in a nine-month prison sentence.
