Father, Son Take Fremont Features

John and Brian Huffman, father and son kart racers from Archbold, each had feature wins in respecting classes at the kart track in Fremont, Sunday, April 15.

The racing was a special fund-raiser for cancer research.

John Huffman was running in the Briggs oval class, (360-pound minimum weight). He swept both heats and won the feature event.

Brian Huffman won the feature in the clone heavy class. He was fifth in his first heat race and fourth in the second heat.

Three other area racers competed in clone heavy.

Steve Burkholder, Pettisville, won the first clone heavy heat and was second in the second heat.

He was second in the feature event.

Third in the clone heavy feature went to Kyle DeKnight, 16, Archbold. He was third in the first heat and won the second heat.

Fifth place went to new racer Justin Aeschliman, Pettisville.

In his first race on asphalt, he was fifth in the clone heavy feature, with a second and a fifth in heat races.
