A fiery crash at the intersection of Fulton County Rd. 1 and US20 left one dead early Wednesday morning, May 10.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not released the names of those involved pending identification.
An OSHP press release states at about 3 am, a small passenger vehicle was traveling south on Co. Rd. 1, while a semi tractor-trailer rig was traveling on the highway.
Preliminary information indicates the passenger vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of the county road and the highway, and the two vehicles collided. Both went off the southeast corner of the intersection, and struck an electrical pole before becoming engulfed in flames.
The driver of the passenger vehicle died at the scene. The semi driver was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
OSHP troopers are still investigating the crash. Assisting at the crash site were the Lucas and Fulton County Sheriff Departments, Metamora Fire Department, and Richfield Township Fire Department.-Posted 12:05 pm 5.10.17
