Eye-catchers at the Fairlawn Auxiliary Auction on Friday evening are not only colorful quilts and comforters, but beautifully handcrafted wooden items.
The two-day 43rd annual benefit for the local nursing home is in Founder’s Hall, Sauder Village, near Archbold. A preview on Thursday, which includes a health fair, starts at 4:30 p.m.
Buffet-style evening meals are served each evening with priced goods. Included are Fairlawn residents’ crafts, Auxiliary members’ baked goods, sausage and cheese. Friday’s auction begins at 5 p.m.
Suz Wyrick, benefit chairman, said, “Dozens of quilts and comforters have been delivered. Each year the wood items increase in variety and beauty. A large bookcase made by Four County Vocational School students is one example.”
Max Stuckey is the lead auctioneer.
