Evelyn M. Knapp
Evelyn M. Knapp, 86, of Stryker, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan.
Mrs. Knapp was a lifelong homemaker and had worked along side her husband, Harlan, every day on their family farm.
Mrs. Knapp was born on March 23, 1922 near Stryker, the daughter of the late Emile and the late Myrtie (Planson) Haye. On Jan. 8, 1947, she married Harlan Knapp, and he preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stryker.
Surviving are two daughers, Carolyn (George) Brown of Stryker, and Barbara (Michael K.) Short of Archbold, two grandchildren, Janet (James) Moore of Stryker, and Beth (Bob) Brickey of Bryan; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Taylor and Austin Taylor, both of Stryker; and three great-great-grandchildren, Rayvin Oehler, Maluree Taylor, and Vincent Taylor all of Stryker.
Also surviving are three sisters, Louise (Richard) Luken of Coldwater, Pauline (Myrl) Zimmerman of Archbold, and Marguerite (Al) Siebenaler of Bryan; two brothers, Harmon (Wilda) Haye of Lewiston, Idaho, and Edwin (Sharon) Haye of Bradenton, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Donna Haye of Stryker.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was a brother, Vincent Haye.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Stryker with the Rev. Daniel Douglass officiating. Interment will be held at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Shiffler Cemetery in Pulaski.
Friends may call at the First Baptist Church in Stryker from 3-8 p.m. on Monday.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the First Baptist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
