Kaylyn McDermott, a Pettisville eighth grader, was honored by the Science Alliance for Valuing the Environment (SAVE) during the group’s May 4 awards night.
McDermott was presented with SAVE’s Eco-Sensitivity Award for her science project, which was judged at the Northwest District Science Fair at the University of Toledo. The event was held at Lourdes College.
Her project was “To Determine How the Acidity of Acid Rain Affects Steel.”
In addition to a cash award, McDermott received a scholarship to attend the Lourdes College Life Lab Summer Science Camp.
