Jordan Beck is the 2008 Pettisville FFA Alumni college scholarship recipient.
It is given to a Pettisville FFA member to assist in studying agriculture.
A junior at the Ohio State University, he is majoring in animal sciences with a minor in agriculture systems management. Beck is a member of the Saddle and Sirloin Club, where he is the lamb show chairman. He is also a member of Towers Agriculture Honorary.
Beck was a member of the 2007 dairy judging team and the 2008 live meat animal evaluation team. This summer he has an internship with a seed corporation, where he will work as a dairy nutritional sales consultant. He plans to graduate in March 2009, and plans to pursue a career with either animal nutrition or animal pharmaceuticals.
Beck was president his senior year in high school, and received the American FFA Degree last fall at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. He is the son of Dave and Cathy Beck.
Luke Short is the 2008 Pettisville FFA Alumni senior scholarship recipient. He plans to study automotive technology and alternative fuels in college.
Short has served as sentinel and vice president, participated in parliamentary procedure, conventions, agri-science fair, several career development events, Washington Leadership Conference, and will receive a state FFA Degree in May.
He is a member of National Honor Society and jazz band. His parents are Brian and Kris Short and Sandy and Mike Short.
