Driver In Golf Cart Incident Identified

Archbold police have released their final report on an accident involving a pedestrian and a golf cart that occurred Friday, Aug. 17.

Initially filed as a hit-skip accident, police have identifi ed the driver of the golf cart as Gertrude Krueger, 84, Archbold. Passengers aboard the vehicle were Grace Wyse, 85, and Catherine Stockburger, 20, Archbold.

At about 9:03 pm, the Archbold police report states Linda L. Pietz, 59, Forrest Hill, Calif., was walking south in the Sauder Village parking lot, south and west of Founder’s Hall, but before the foot bridge.

The golf cart, also traveling south, struck Pietz from behind, causing an injury to her left leg, the report said.

The report states the golf cart continued traveling south.

Krueger and the cart passengers contacted police and provided written statements.

In their statements, they said Pietz stepped into the cart’s path.

No charges were filed.
