Dorothy G. Carter, age 93, of Archbold, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Prior to her retirement in 1987 she had worked at Lauber Manufacturing in Archbold for many years.
Dorothy was born in Fulton County on Oct. 17, 1916, the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Helen (Scott) Burkholder. In 1937 she married Ivan H. Carter, and he preceded her in death in 1964.
She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Archbold.
Surviving is one son, Allen (Elizabeth “Donna”) Carter of Archbold; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Eileen Neill of Lyons, Geraldine Hayes of Napoleon, and Jeanette Weber of Wauseon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; one son, Irvin Carter; three brothers, Robert, Earl and Russell Burkholder; and one sister, Marie Marko.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold, with the Rev. Paul Reichert, offi ciating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery, near Archbold.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 until 8 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Archbold Fire Department or the Disabled American Veterans.
