Dorothea A. Von Deylen, age 84 years, of Stryker, passed away Friday morning, May 4, 2012, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon.
She was born July 22, 1927, in Napoleon, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Kruse) Dachenhaus.
She married Elmer Von Deylen on May 29, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1993.
A resident of the Stryker area many years, she worked at the former Dinner Bell at Defiance for 37 years.
She was an active member of the St. John Lutheran Church, at the corner of Routes 6 & 66.
She is survived by her three children, Eugene Von Deylen and Mary Ann Wischmeyer, both of Bryan, and Richard Von Deylen of Hamler; seven grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; andthreesisters, Pauline (Carl) Dehnbostel, Lorna (Walter) Hougland, and Mildred Imbrock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Lawrence, Raymond, and Frederrick Dachenhaus; and a sister, Valieta Homan.
Services were held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Kern officiating. Interment followed in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold was entrusted with the arrangements.
