Dominique Charged With Kidnapping

Jacob B. Dominique, 24, 609 Stryker St., has been charged with kidnapping, domestic violence, and resisting arrest.

Dominique was arrested Sunday, Oct. 28, after a one-hour standoff at his residence with Archbold Police officers, plus officers from four other law enforcement agencies.

Thom Ross, Archbold Police assistant chief, said the kidnapping charge resulted after a member of Dominique’s family crossed police lines and went to Dominique, and statements made to police officers by Dominique.

Ross said Dominique removed the magazine from the handgun, identified as a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, and gave the magazine and the gun to the relative, who turned it over to Archbold and Stryker officers before Dominique surrendered.

The Archbold Police report states that at about 4:30 am that day, an APD officer received a report of a woman walking along South Defiance Street. She was barefoot, and did not have a coat.

The officer located the woman, a 19-year-old Wauseon resident, and took her to the Archbold Police station, where she was interviewed. She alleged she had been involved in a domestic violence incident with Dominique at his residence, and had fled the home.

The domestic violence charge stems from the incident.

On Monday, Dominique was being held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
