All three Archbold wrestlers have fallen out of the state tournament.
In consolation round 2, Zach Rocha (132 lbs.) lost a 3-1 sudden victory decision to Johnstown Northridge’s Klay Reeves. Brennan Short (138 lbs.) lost a 4-2 decision to Rocky River Lutheran West’s Parker Watson.
And Kasyn Schaffner (160 lbs.) lost a 9-3 decision to Lewistown Indian Lake’s Hayden Pummel.-Posted 3.8, 1:53 pm.
All three Archbold wrestlers remain alive in the Div. III state wrestling tournament in Columbus after the first day, Thursday, March 7.
Zach Rocha (132 lbs.) lost a 10-4 decision to Rootstown’s Trent Duvall in the first round. He won an 8-7 decision over Collin Wiley of Caldwell in the first round of consolations.
Brennan Short (138 lbs.) lost an 11-2 major decision to Rootstown’s Niko Chilson in the first round, then defeated Sam Patterson of Batavia Clermont Northeastern 11-4 to advance.
Kasyn Schaffner (160 lbs.) lost a 9-3 decision to Miami Valley Christian Academy’s Seth Henderson in the first round, then pinned Cody Albaugh of Bellaire in :59 to advance to Friday morning’s consolation second round.
