Archbold Man Shot
Details are sketchy, but the Ohio Department of Natural Resources said a 25-year-old Archbold man was shot while deer hunting about midday, Monday, Dec. 1.
Tom LaVergne, ODNR spokesman, said the man was allegedly shot in an ankle by a 17-year-old female who was accompanying him. Names of the two were not available at presstime.
ODNR officials believe the shooting was accidental.
A Ridgeville Township rescue unit was called to the scene of the mishap, located at V-356 St. Rt. 66, at 12:48 p.m. The injured man was taken by helicopter ambulance to St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, in Toledo, where he reportedly underwent surgery on the ankle.
