Cordell E. Womas, 35, and Jessica C. Womas, 33, Northwood, have each been indicted on one count of burglary by the Fulton County Grand Jury.
The grand jury met Monday, June 18, and handed down indictments against the couple, plus six other persons.
In a press release, Scott Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, said on or about May 21, "they allegedly trespassed in a residence in Archbold with purpose to commit a criminal act."
The case began on Monday, May 21, when Susan Wyse, 67, 82 Pin Oak Place, arrived at home at about 1:43 pm and found an unfamiliar car in the driveway. She opened her garage door and discovered a woman and two children, ages 1 and 3, standing in the garage. The woman was wearing some of her clothes.
A man came out of the house; the four got into the unknown auto and drove away.
They were captured a short time later in downtown Archbold by Archbold police working in conjunction with Fulton County Sheriff deputies. The couple’s car ran out of gas in front of Christy Motor Sales.
The man and woman, identified as Cordell and Jessica Womas, were arrested and transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
As of 2 pm, Wednesday, June 20, they were still being held. Bond for Cordell Womas was set at $50,000 cash; bond for Jessica Womas was set at $50,000, 10% allowable ($5,000 cash bond).
The children were turned over to family members, but reports were forwarded to the Fulton and Wood county departments of Job & Family Services.–Posted 2:55 pm 6/20/12
