Susan Wyse, 67, 82 Pin Oak Place, arrived at home, Monday afternoon, May 21, to find a man, woman, and two toddlers in her home.
Wyse told Archbold police she left her house about 11:50 am, Monday. When she returned at 1:43 pm, she spotted an unknown car in her driveway.
Wyse told officers she opened the garage door and saw two toddlers, and a woman wearing her (Wyse’s) clothes.
The Archbold police report states the woman and the children got into the unknown car, then a man came out of the house and got into the vehicle. They drove away, heading south on Pin Oak.
An off-duty Fulton County Sheriff Department deputy spotted the car and relayed its location to Fulton County Sheriff Department dispatchers.
The suspect vehicle had run out of gas in front of Christy Motors in the 300 block of North Defiance Street.
An on-duty FCSD deputy arrived, followed by an Archbold police officer, and the couple was placed under arrest.
The two arrested were identified as Cordell Edward Womas, 35, and Jessica Charnae Womas, 33, both of the same Northwood address.
They were each charged with a single count of burglary of an occupied structure.
Both were arraigned in Fulton County Western District court by video on Tuesday, May 22. Each was assigned a court-appointed attorney.
Each has a preliminary hearing set for Tuesday, May 29.
Bond for Cordell Womas was set at $50,000 cash. Bond for Jessica Womas was set at $50,000, 10% allowed ($5,000 cash bond).
As of Friday afternoon, both were still being held at CCNO.
Thom Ross, Archbold assistant police chief, said the children, ages 1 and 3, were turned over to family members.
A copy of the report was forwarded to the Department of Job and Family Services of both Fulton and Wood counties.–Posted 5.25, 2:40 p.m.
