Deputies Seek Auto In Mishap With Pedestrian

Fulton County Sheriff Department deputies are searching for a car that fled into Michigan after striking a man changing a tire early Saturday morning, June 15.

As of Monday, FCSD had not released the name of the victim.

In a press release, FCSD officials said the victim was helping change a tire on a disabled vehicle about 12:22 am.

The victim was standing in the southbound lane of Co. Rd. 23, near the Ohio-Michigan border, when a northbound car struck him.

The auto, described as a “small, newer sedan,” continued north into Lenawee County.

The suspect vehicle should have damage to the left front headlight assembly, and possibly the front bumper.

FCSD deputies, the Fayette Fire Department, Fayette Rescue, Archbold-based paramedic squad ALS-1, and a helicopter ambulance responded to the scene of the mishap.
