Fulton County Sheriff deputies, with the assistance of Archbold police, arrested Manuel Santiago, 33, 102 LaChoy Drive, on a charge of having weapons while under disability.
Persons convicted of certain felony crimes in Ohio are barred from owning firearms.
Information from Ohio Attorney General Sex Offender Registry indicates Santiago has a previous conviction for sexual battery, and is classifi ed as a sexually-oriented offender. He is required to register his address with the Sheriff Department annually for 10 years.
Roy Miller, Fulton County Sheriff Department chief deputy, said deputies executed a search warrant at his LaChoy Drive residence about 5:30 pm, Monday, Oct. 22, and found a weapon, resulting in the charge.
Miller said officers were conducting the search warrant in connection with another investigation when the weapon was found.
Santiago also faces a receiving stolen property charge.
As of Friday, he was being held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on $10,000 cash bond.
