Delta won the boys meet and Wauseon, the girls, at the Northwest Ohio Athletic League meet, Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Deshler Airport.
The Panthers had three of the top four runners in the boys meet. Nick Thomas won the race in 15:53.
Wauseon had three of the top five finishers in the girls meet. Delta’s Jessica Kern won in 19:59.
Archbold placed eighth in the boys meet and seventh in the girls.
“We had hoped to place much better in the team standings, but with lead runners Katrina Gobrogge and Brian Grime running with injuries, we knew that would be tough,” said Mike Wachtmann, AHS coach.
“We had outstanding personal performances from Amanda Storrer, Laura Bowman and Aleah Lambright, who really dropped their times. Jackie Bell, Rahel Frie, and Paige Price also held their own, near their personal bests this year.
“On the boys side, every single runner improved their times from excellent performances last week at the Archer Invitational. The team is still peaking as we move into the districts next week.”
