Ilva M. Frey Sauder

Ilva M. Frey Sauder, age 85 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 12, 2007 at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, where she had resided since Oct. 1.

She was born Dec. 16, 1921 near Archbold, a daughter of Daniel and Anna (Kutzli) Short. She married Roy Frey on April 21, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1987. She then married Orval D. Sauder on Sept. 17, 1988, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2006.

A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she worked at Nofziger Dairy, Short Furniture, and from 1960 to 1975 she was a secretary at Sauder Woodworking. She served on the Fairlawn Haven Board for 13 years, was active in the Fulton County Migrant Camp Ministry, and volunteered at Care and Share and Sauder Village.

She was a member of the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (Dwight) Kauffman of Archbold; three grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; four step-daughters, Jeanette (Don) Cripe of Elkart, Ind., Carol (Gilbert) Nafziger of Archbold; Judy Yoder of Plain City, and Linda (A.J.) Rupp of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a step-son, Jeff (Tana) Sauder of Archbold; 15 step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; and a sister, Marjorie Roth of Archbold.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nancy Frey; her two husbands; two sisters, Ella Gisel and Florence Richer; and infant brother, Walter Short.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Central Mennonite Church with Pastors Jeffrey Smith, Wanda Stopher, and Bill Holsopple offi- ciating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.

The family suggests that memorials be given to Black Swamp Benefit Inc. or Central Mennonite Church Building Fund.

Margaret F. Thierry, 87, Wauseon, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Survivors include three children, Marlene (Gordon) Blickle, Union, Ky., Terald (Eunice) Thierry, Liberty Center, and Cheryl (John) Tremblay, Maumee; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Jean) Haas, Sebring, Fla., and Donald (Mary) Haas, Delta; and a sister, Doris Link, Fayette. Interment was in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Barbara L. Nafziger, 75, West Unity, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, in the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Survivors include her husband, Marvin; two sons, Rodney Nafziger, Archbold, and Mark “Spud” Nafziger, West Unity; one daughter, Peggy Bowers, West Unity; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Manley, Whitehouse. Burial was in the Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity.

Lester L. Roth, 84, Archbold, died Tueday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the Archbold Hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth (Thomas) Short, Archbold, and Jean (William) Hawk, Harrisonburg, Va.; two sons, Richard (Alvina) Roth, Luray, Va., and Kenneth (Terri) Roth, Harrisonburg, Va.; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Paul (Carol Roth, Kilbuck. Interment was in the North Pettisville Cemetery.

Thelma M. Bohner, 91, Archbold, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home. Arrangements are pending at Short Funeral Home.
