E. Dean Beck, rural Archbold, received the Ohio Hospital Association distinguished service award, June 9.
Beck was recognized for his professional achievements and community service. For 40 years Beck has been with the Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon. He became the administrator in 1975.
During his administration he led the hospital through many health care changes. He oversaw major expansions and new services such as a nursing home, and introduced the newest technology.
Beck served as president of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of Healthcare Finance Management Association in 1977. He has held board and committee positions with the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio, including chairman of the board in 1982. Currently, he is chairman of the council’s nominating committee.
From 1998-2001 he served on the OHA Small and Rural Hospital Committee.
He and his wife, Jeanette, reside near Archbold.
