Darwin “Darv” Sonnenberg, age 73 of Hamler, died on Sept. 21, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.
Darv was an avid bowler and proprietor of Hamler Lanes for many years. For 20 years, Darv owned and operated Sonnenberg Trucking, from which he recently retired.
He also enjoyed working on and restoring his collection of Cushman motor scooters and travelling to various places with their Cushman Clubs.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; mother, Esther Sonnenberg, Napoleon; four children, Karen (Robert) Weber of Deshler, Pam (Carl) Hurst of Archbold, Dennis (Teresa) Sonnenberg of Ridgeville Corners, and Kevin (Angie) Sonnenberg of Liberty Center; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Keith (Carol Ann) Sonnenberg of Malinta; and sister, Lila (Gary) Wernecke of Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hugo Sonnenberg.
Funeral services were at 11 am on Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, was entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association, Peace Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
