Crash Reports

Several crash reports were released by Archbold police:

•A crash occurred at the intersection of Siegel Road and Jantzi Street about 1:36 pm, Saturday, March 9.

A sport-utility vehicle, driven by Michael P. Ruby, 33, Archbold, was traveling north on Siegel Road. Ruby missed his turn at Jantzi Street. He stopped, then began backing. In doing so, he struck a car directly behind it driven by Abby Nafziger, 30, Napoleon. No injuries.

•A crash occurred on Wednesday, March 20, about 7:32 am on South Defiance Street, about 102 feet south of East Lugbill Road.

A sport-utility vehicle, driven by Cathy S. Aschemeier, 64, Defiance, was stopped behind a semi truck. A pickup truck, driven by Jessika Irene Clymer, 24, Archbold, was stopped behind Aschemeier, and started to move forward before Aschemeier. They collided.

Clymer was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. Clymer, Aschemeier, and Jordan Clymer, 5, Archbold, a passenger in the pickup, were not injured. Jordan was in a child safety seat.

•A crash occurred in the parking lot at the Circle K store about 5:07 pm, Saturday, March 23.

A car, driven by Sydney Beck, 27, Archbold, was traveling west in the parking lot when Beck swerved to avoid another vehicle and collided with a car driven by Ruth Fry, 58, rural Delta, which was in a parking space. No injuries.

•Two sport-utility vehicles collided in the parking lot at the elementary school about 1:33 pm, Wednesday, March 27.

One was driven by Kathy J. Beck, 63, Archbold; the second was driven by Brenda K. Brown 53, Archbold. They were backing out of parking spaces at the same time and collided. No injuries.

•A parking lot mishap involving a parked car occurred in the Videos Unlimited parking lot about 4:23 pm, Tuesday, April 2.

A sport-utility vehicle, driven by Ashlyn Marie Stantz, 17, Archbold, was backing out a parking space, and collided with a parked car occupied by Amanda Payne, 17, Archbold. No injuries.

•A crash occurred at 7:54 am, Wednesday, April 3, on South Defiance Street, about 48 feet south of East Lugbill Road.

A sport-utility vehicle, driven by Rachel A. Plassman, 40, rural Napoleon, was stopped in the northbound lane of South Defiance Street, waiting on a traffic signal. Passengers were Cole Plassman, 14, Connor Plassman, 11, and Audree Plassman, 8, all of the same address.

A car, driven by Allie Jo Kroetz, 16, rural Archbold, was traveling north behind Plassman, with passenger Kingston Kroetz, 10, same address. They collided. Kroetz was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. No injuries.

•A semi-tractor pulling double trailers damaged a crossing arm at the Defiance Street Norfolk Southern railroad crossing about 6:01 pm, Wednesday, March 3.

The semi, driven by Joseph Lyle Griffiths, 27, Angola, Ind., owned by XPO Logistics Freight, Inc., Richmond, Ind., was traveling south on North Defiance Street, and drove onto the crossing.

As he drove over the crossing the crossing gate came down and was damaged. No injury.
