Crash At Rail Crossing

Roger R. Fair, 24, rural Wauseon, and Brady S. Schaffner, 21, Wauseon, were involved in a single-vehicle crash about 3:13 am Friday, Oct. 24 at the Co. Rd. D "slant" crossing.

The Fulton County Sheriff Department report states Fair was driving a car east on Co. Rd. D, when it failed to negotiate the curve at the crossing, about a half-mile west of Co. Rd. 20.

The car went off the left side of the road and into a ditch. No injuries.

Kyle D. Graber, 16, rural Wauseon, received a citation for failure to control after an Oct. 22 auto accident at the intersection of St. Rt. 2 and Co. Rd. 19.

At about 4:43 pm, Sylvester H. Long, Jr., 58, Wauseon, was driving a car north on the county road, and was stopped at the intersection. Graber was driving a car that was following Long. The two vehicles collided. No injuries.

There were several vehicledeer crashes in the area recently on file with FCSD. None resulted in injuries to humans.

•Monday, Oct. 27, 6:22 am: Donald L. Clifton II, 47, rural West Unity, driving vehicle east on US20A, hit deer .2 mile west of Co. Rd. 25.

Friday, Oct. 31, 7:58 am: Elizabeth Ann Roth, 39, rural Archbold, driving sport utility vehicle east on Co. Rd. F, hit a deer .1 mile east of Co. Rd. 26.

•Monday, Nov. 3, 7:39 pm: Grace E. Brehm, 55, rural Fayette, driving sport utility vehicle west on Co. Rd. L, hit a deer near Co. Rd. 22.

•Monday, Nov. 3, 8:33 pm: Tiffany N. Gerlach, 29, Wauseon, driving minivan west on Co. Rd. B, hit deer .6 mile west of Co. Rd. 21.
