Kelly Lynn Higbea and Timothy Patrick Roche exchanged wedding vows at 5 pm, Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, on the beach in front of the Blue Parrot Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
A local judge officiated, and music was presented by a Mexican trio.
The bride wore a natural white strapless gown with a dutchess satin sash and buttons down the back and a veil handmade by her aunt. She carried a bouquet of Hawiians, a deep fuschia-colored flower local to the Mayan Riviera.
The wedding colors were fuschia and kelly green to accent the flowers and the tropical foliage of the area.
Bridesmaids were Amy (Waetjen) Drews, Portland, Ore.; Brenda (Gottlieb) Palmer, Indianapolis, Ind.; and Katie (Ladd) Langlois, Indianapolis, Ind.
Chris Weinman, Wheaton, Ill., was the best man. Groomsmen were Ken Roche, Denver, Colo., and Andy Bertagnoli, San Francisco, Calif.
A reception for 50 was held in a palapa overlooking the sea at the resort.
The couple will honeymoon in Australia for two weeks in February.
The bride graduated from Tinora High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso (Ind.) University and a master’s from Miami (Ohio) University. She is the director of marketing for Centro, an online media company in Chicago, Ill.
The groom is a graduate of Grand Blanc High School and Michigan State University. He is a relationship manager for JP Morgan Chase, Chicago, Ill.
Parents of the couple are Lee and Kathy Higbea, rural Defi- ance, and Pat and Carol Roche, Grand Blanc, Mich.
The couple lives on the north side of Chicago, Ill., near Wrigley Field.
