Fulton County unemployment fell to 7.8% in September, the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family services announced last week.
August unemployment was originally announced as 8.2%. ODJFS revised the August estimate to 8.1%, then announced the September estimated unemployment of 7.8%. The September rate is down three-tenths of a percent from the August figure.
Fulton County’s estimated unemployment in September was the second-highest in the fourcounty area. Williams County unemployment went from 8.7% in August to 8.8% in September. Henry County dropped to 7.5%; Defiance County was 7.6%.
ODJFS estimated there were 1,800 people out of work in Fulton County during September. The number of employed persons was 12,600, for a total labor force of 23,400.
ODJFS estimated there were more than 416,000 Ohioans out of work in September.
