More evidence in the deaths of a man and a woman found in a yard in rural Delta points to murder-suicide.
Fulton County Sheriff Department deputies found the bodies after they were dispatched to a home at 2097 Co. Rd. 6 at, 4:04 pm, Saturday, Sept. 8.
Deputies treated the case as a murder-suicide when they began their investigation.
Roy Miller, Fulton County Sheriff Department chief deputy, said Friday, Sept. 14, the Lucas County Coroner office ruled the death of Katie Roberts, 25, Toledo, a murder. She suffered wounds from a .22 caliber rifle and a knife found at the scene.
The coroner ruled the death of Justin Roberts, 30, a suicide. His wounds came only from the firearm. Miller said the pair had been dead about 45 minutes when offi- cers arrived.
The two were married but separated at the time of their deaths.
Miller said Justin Roberts was staying at the home on Co. Rd. 6, which is owned by his mother, Catherine Roberts.
She was visiting family in Arizona at the time of the incident.
Miller said deputies have “a few things to wrap up,” before their investigation is complete.
Among the loose ends is information from Arizona, where Miller said a 911 call was made to local authorities there, who in turn, notifi ed Fulton County.
Also Miller said deputies are awaiting final reports on items sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identifi cation & Investigation for analysis.
He said the FCSD report on the incident should be completed in about a week.
