Cornelia Short




Cornelia Short, age 95, of Archbold, passed away Friday morning, April 23, 2010, at the Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.

She had been a missionary for over 57 years in Kentucky, having served at the Emmanuel Bible Camp where she was on staff, on the board of directors and treasurer.

She also held Bible classes in Rock Castle Co., Ky., and established the Calloway Mission in Kentucky.

Cornelia was born in Henry Co., Ohio, on Nov. 2, 1914, the daughter of the late Emil and the late Mary Ann (Rupp) Short.

She was a lifelong member of the Archbold Evangelical Church in Archbold.

Surviving is one brother, Myrl (Alice) Short of Wauseon; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Short of Pettisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Maynard and Herbert Short, and sisters Velma Beck, Lowneta Shady, Valetta Werder, Beulah Grimm and Evelyn Short.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Archbold Evangelical Church, with Pastor Stuart Rex and Pastor Charles Zimmerman, officiating. Interment followed in the Pettisville Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Calloway Mission in Kentucky or the charity of the donor’s choice.
