Jacob N. Sloan, 23, rural Lyons, was convicted of felonious assault and misdemeanor domestic violence in a jury trial in Fulton County Common Pleas Court that concluded Wednesday Feb. 17.
Scott Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, said a jury of nine men and three women deliberated for about an hour before returning two guilty verdicts. The trial lasted a day and a half.
Charges were initially filed in Eastern District Court in November 2015. Sloan’s case was then bound over to common pleas court.
A grand jury returned a two-count indictment charging domestic violence and felonious assault on Nov. 16, 2015.
A pre-sentence investigation has been ordered. Sloan is currently being held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
