Collegiate Connection

Rex Brown, a 2004 Pettisville High School graduate, recently finished the track and field season at Bluffton University.

A senior, Brown competed in six events. He holds his individual season record time in the 400-meter dash at 53.09 seconds and discus, 37.74 meters.

Brown placed third in the alltime Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the javelin with a distance of 52.84 meters. He was also part of the 4×100- meter relay team, 4×200, and 4×400.

The Beavers men’s track and field team placed seventh in the 2008 HCAC championships, April 25-26 at Anderson (Ind.) University.

Brown is the son of Gary and Sandra, rural Wauseon.
