Aaron Zimmerman, AHS ‘15, a student at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va., and son of Mike and Deb, completed a cross cultural study program in South Africa.
The summer cross cultural program consists of three- or six-week programs in North America or abroad or a full summer experience.
Cross cultural learning provides students with the ability to learn about themselves, another culture or country, and gain experiences that they would not get anywhere else.
Callie Rohrs, AHS ‘19 and daughter of Andrew and Lori, Ridgeville Corners, participated in the Youngstown State University Honors Col- lege Global Day of Service.
First-year students collectively contributed nearly 1,000 hours of service to the community on a single Saturday earlier this semester.
Rohrs volunteered at Fellows Riverside Garden, one of 15 sites throughout Mahoning County.
The event is designed to not only make an impact in the community, but also formally start the students’ volunteer experience, a major part of the honors college curriculum.
