Luke Fisher, AHS ‘15, and a freshman on the Bethel (Ind.) College men’s basketball team, has been voted to the Crossroads League All-Newcomer Team.
A son of Vern and Rosemary, Fisher fought his way into Bethel’s starting lineup early in the season after a breakout performance in a win against CL rival Grace College with 19 points, seven assists, and four rebounds in 32 minutes of play.
Fisher finished the season averaging 9.4 points per game, shooting 51% from the field and 46% from beyond the arc while pulling down 3.6 rebounds per game as well.
The Pilots (23-9) are the number 13 seed in the year National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship tournament.
They play Robert Morris (24-9), tomorrow, Thursday, 5 p.m., at the College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Mo.
The winner moves on to the round of 16 to face the Briar Cliff (Iowa)-Washington Adventist (Md.) winner, Friday, March 13, 6:45 pm.
