Walter B. Sumpter, 36, Cleveland, was found guilty on drug charges by a Fulton County jury, Wednesday, March 24.
Scott A. Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, said the jury convicted Sumpter of one count each of complicity to commit possession of marijuana, complicity to commit trafficking in marijuana, and complicity to commit possession of criminal tools.
The trial, which lasted almost two days, was followed by three hours of deliberation by the six-man, six-woman jury. A pre-sentence investigation has been ordered. When the report is complete, a sentencing date will be set.
Sumpter is currently free on bond.
Charges are the result of an investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
