Breaking News: Garage Sale Correction

Chamber To Proceed With Beer Sales

Nanette Buehrer, director of the Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce, said last week the chamber board decided to proceed with its plans for the Chili Cookoff, including the sale of beer.

She said the chamber board met Wednesday, Sept. 3, and made the decision.

As part of the Saturday, Oct. 3 event, the chamber has filed an application with the Ohio Department of Liquor Control for a Type F permit, which permits the sale of beer. As of last week, the permit had not been received.

Archbold village council has given its consent.

If the permit is approved, chamber officials plan to sell beer in a fenced-off area on West Holland Street, just west of North Defiance St. Access to the area will be strictly limited to those over the age of 21.

In addition to beer, the area, tentatively called the “Side Street Café,” will offer appetizers, snacks, and soft drinks along with a band and corn hole, a popular beanbag tossing game.
