Chamber Board Waits To Fill Director Position

The Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees is taking a look at its own organization, to determine what roles it will fill in the future.

Joe Short, board president, said the group is looking at questions such as direction the Chamber will take in the future, and what the needs of the members are.

“Basically, I’ve broken (the Chamber board) into two groups. I’ve got half of them working on one project, and the other half working on another,” Short said.

He said plans call for the board to complete its work by July 1.

With a vision for the future of the Chamber established, Short said the board will know what skills and abilities a new director will need, and can then begin searching for someone to fill the role.

Julie Brink, former AACC director, resigned from the position Feb. 19. She had been director since September 2011.

“My leadership style may not be the best fit for the direction the chamber wants to take,” Brink said at the time.

Amy Krueger, assistant director, continues to staff the Chamber office in the Archbold municipal building.
