A seven-year old child from Concord, N.C., was bitten by a cat in the 200 block of Dogwood Court sometime between 5 pm, Sunday, July 2, and 5 pm the following day.
Archbold police received a call from the Adrian Urgent Care, Adrian, Mich., who reported a patient was being tended to who had been bitten by the cat at a residence on Dogwood Court.
In his report, an officer noted he observed the cat, reporting, “It did not appear to have any diseases or rabies.
“I attempted to trap the cat but was unsuccessful. Owner of the property will call when the cat is out in the open to trap.”
Later, the cat was captured and turned over to the county dog warden.
Under Ohio law, if an animal bites a human, whether it has been vaccinated for rabies or not, it must be quarantined for 10 days.
