Carolyn Attalie Hoyt, age 88, of rural Swanton, passed away Saturday morning, July 4, 2015, in her home.

Carolyn was born in Toledo, Ohio, on May 6, 1927, the daughter of Homer and Caryl (Armstrong) Hageman.

On Sept. 10, 1949, she married Francis Hoyt, and he survives.

She was a member of the Shiloh Christian Union Church, near Delta, where she taught Sunday School and VBS for many years. She was also a church librarian and assisted Francis with his duties when he was Sunday School superintendent.

Carolyn and Francis were active for eight years with the Roving Volunteers in Christ Service (RVICS), a Christian organization, throughout the United States.

Surviving is her husband, Francis; three daughters, Marilyn (Lyle) Van Horn of Wilmore, Ky., Beverly (Doug) Terpstra of Pella, Iowa, Donna (Allan) Kinsman of Archbold; 10 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren; sister, Joyce Wannemacher of Toledo; and brother, Warren Hageman of Rocklin, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at the Shiloh Christian Union Church, with Pastor Chuck Whitmire, officiating. Interment followed in the Heath Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Shiloh Christian Union Church or the Gideons International.

The Grisier Funeral Home in Delta was entrusted with the arrangements.
