Carol Jean (Liechty) Palmer, age 81, of Wauseon, passed away on Dec. 19, 2012, at Fulton Manor Nursing Home in Wauseon.
She was born March 19, 1931, in Toledo, to Ada Mae (Schlatter) and Edward Liechty.
She attended DeVilbiss High School in Toledo. She graduated from NYACK University in 1952 with a B.S. in education. She also graduated from Western Michigan University with a master’s degree in counseling.
She retired as a school teacher from Cedar Lake Elementary in Oscoda, Mich. She relocated to South Carolina and then moved to the Wauseon area.
She was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church.
Carol is survived by her son, Mark, and her sister, Judy Holgersen. She has three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Proceeding Carol in death are her parents and her daughter, Lynn Ernst.
A memorial service was Friday, Dec. 21, at 4:30 p.m., at Short Funeral Home in Archbold. Burial was at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park near Toledo on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. www.ShortFuneralHome.com.
