Carl V. Yoder, age 82, of Archbold, died on Oct. 18, 2010, at Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
He was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Allensville, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Yoder.
His mother, Lizzie Yoder, Dalton, Ohio survives.
On Oct. 22, 1950, he married Martha Diller Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are their sons, Keith, Jacksonville, Ore., Stanley (Jayne), Defi- ance, Ted (Nadine) Olympia, Wash.; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a sister, Rhoda (Robert) Hartman, Kidron; two brothers, Charles (Janet), Phoenix, Ariz., and Sanford (Marcella), Kidron.
Carl was a graduate of Eastern Mennonite High School and received a BA in psychology and Bible from Eastern Mennonite University.
He served as pastor of Tedrow Mennonite Church for 14 years and later became a member and active participant of Zion Mennonite Church.
He was employed by Sauder Woodworking Company and following retirement, Carl gave generously of his time to volunteer work as well as many gifts of encouragement.
That generosity continued after his death when his body was donated to UTMC.
Visitation will be at Zion Mennonite Church on Friday, Oct. 22, from 2 pm until 8 pm. A memorial service will be held at the church on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 11 am.
