Carl F. Brandt, 88, of Archbold, passed away peacefully at the Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance on May 27, 2016.
Carl was born April 6, 1928, in Ridgeville Twp. to the late Albert Carl and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Arnos Brandt.
On Jan. 21, 1951, he married Norma Jean Hesterman at St. John Lutheran Church, Stryker.
Carl was a lifetime farmer. He was a co-owner and founder of Brandt Brothers electircal contracting business for many years. He also was a dairy equipment dealer in the area.
He was a faithful member of the St. John Lutheran Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher, a Sunday school superintendent, member of the senior choir, janitor, bell ringer, men’s dart ball member, congregation secretary, elder, youth leader, and a godfather to numerous children.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 65 years, Norma Jean Brandt, Archbold; children, Alan Carl Brandt of Cleveland, and Lisa Marie (Mark) Baker of Waldron, Mich.; grandchildren, Nathan (Mattea) Baker, Stephanie (Kyle) Johnson, Katherine (Scott Solo) Baker, Anna Baker, Zaire Paschal, X’vere Paschal, Z’marea Paschal; great-granddaughter, Mason Jean Johnson; brother, Richard E. (Jeanette) Brandt and brother-in-law, Carl Fry, both of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Fry.
At 7 p.m. on Monday, May 30, there was a memorial service at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon officiated by Reverend Mike Hesterman.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday May 31, at St. John Lutheran Church, Stryker, Ohio, officiated by Pastor Jeffery Corder.
