Carl E. Rosebrock

Carl E. Rosebrock, 77, of Ridgeville Corners, died Saturday evening, Dec. 13, 2008 at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born April 22, 1931, in Ridgeville Corners to the late Henry & Anna (Hasemeier) Rosebrock. On Nov. 18, 1951, he married Charlotte (Hausch) Rosebrock at the First Lutheran Church of Stryker. She survives in Ridgeville Corners.

Carl was a meat cutter for Dinner Bell Foods for 38 years and Brookview Farms for over 15 years. He was a life member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners, where he held various positions on Church Council.

He was a member of the Ridgeville Water & Sewer Board, Ridgeville Township Zoning Board, Board of Directors for the Ridgeville Telephone Company, a former Boy Scout leader, volunteer for Henry County Meals on Wheels and Butchering Day at Sauder Village, union steward for Amalgamated Meat Cutters, and member of the Ridgeville American Legion.

He was a Corporal for the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is also survived by two daughters, Marilyn Short of Stryker and Ann (Chip) Wilkerson of Indianapolis, Ind.; a son, Bruce (Patti) Rosebrock of Stryker; a son-in-law, Greg Weber of Avondale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Tina (Gary) Hancock, Missy Ramirez, Ben (Deveny) Rosebrock, Emily (Josh) Clemens, and Chase Weber; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lande, and Amelia Hancock, Kaleb and Gavin Ramirez; two brothers, Alvin (Evelyn) Rosebrock, Henry (Mary) Rosebrock, Jr., both of Ridgeville Corners; two sisters, Laura Bitzinger of Toledo and Henrietta Libey of Liberty Center.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Weber; granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Barth; greatgrandson, Levi Hancock; son-inlaw, Steve Short; four sisters, Frieda Ohmke, Clara Reynolds, Esther Rosebrock, Helen Rosebrock; and brother, Fred “Fritz” Rosebrock.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion.

Visitation was Tuesday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials to the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Hospice of Fulton County, Zion Lutheran Church, or Ridgeville Fire Department.
