A car was stolen, then later recovered, early the morning of Monday, April 1, an Archbold police report states.
Kevin L. Bechtel, 39, 119 South Defiance St., told police the car was taken about 1 am. He reported it missing about 6:36 am.
The car was found around 9 am parked in the Rite Aid parking lot. Missing was a brown wallet and a set of keys on a black and white lanyard. The car had been left unlocked.
Later that morning, the wallet was recovered in the 1700 block of South Defiance Street.
Witnesses saw two suspects leaving the vehicle, who were caught on surveillance video, but police were unable to identify them. The case is marked closed, pending new information.
In an unrelated case, a 16- year-old boy told police a cell phone had been taken from a mailbox on Saturday, March 30.
A police investigation revealed the phone was not actually stolen, and no crime had been committed.
