Car-Bicycle Crash North Of Pettisville On Oct. 5

A car and a bicycle collided on Co. Rd. 19, about a tenth of a mile north of Co. Rd. H about 7:44 pm, Sunday, Oct. 5.

The Fulton County Sheriff report states William Monroe Carpenter, 89, Morenci, Mich., was driving a car north on Co. Rd. 19. Also traveling north on the county road was a bicycle ridden by Mathew Mock, 16, rural Wauseon.

Carpenter told deputies he saw two vehicles approaching in the southbound lane, and knew there was a third vehicle approaching him from behind. He drove off the right side of the road, where the car and the bicycle collided.

The report states Mock suffered possible injuries, but a rescue squad was not called.

The report said Carpenter said he did not see Mock’s bicycle due to the approaching vehicle headlights.

The report noted Mock’s bike had one small rear reflector, but no lights.


Chase D. Stuckey, 27, rural Stryker, struck a deer with his pickup truck about 8:29 pm, Monday, Oct. 6. The mishap occurred on Co. Rd. D, a tenth of a mile west of Co. Rd. 26-2.


Amanda L. Davis, 21, rural Archbold, was driving a car south on St. Rt. 108 about 2:05 am, Saturday, Oct. 4, when her auto collided with a deer.

The crash occurred about 100 feet south of Co. Rd. A-C.
