C. Robert “Bob” Bannister




C. Robert “Bob” Bannister, age 68 years, of Napoleon, passed away Monday morning, May 22, 2017, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.

He was born Aug. 19, 1948, at Ridgeville Corners, the son of Charles and Lucille (Rettig) Bannister.

A lifelong resident of the Napoleon/Defiance area, he was a surveyor, working with Rudy Basselman. He was a huge fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2094 in Defiance.

He is survived by a daughter, Tara (Mark) Thatcher of Archbold; three grandchildren, Emma Mae and twins Hayden and Liam; his mother, Lucille Mae Bannister of Wauseon; three sisters, Linda Morrow of Oklahoma, Lita (Jerry) Dehnbostel of Wauseon, and Pat (Tom) Miller of Utah; and dear friends, Tim (Toni Rollman) Herr.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Reichert officiating.

Friends may call at St. Martins from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 5.
